Happy Mother's Day!

Today was a good day! I got  up this morning and prepared our lunch so that when we got home from church it could go straight into the oven. I got to Skype with my man, JTB, all morning then we got ready and  headed to Alabaster Church of God where Pastor Stroup delivered a good old fashioned fire and brimstone preaching on salvation. It was out of II Samuel 21. The story of Rizpah and how she stayed six months with the bodies of her sons that David had killed to avenge the killings that Saul had done.

10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.11 And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh–gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth–shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:13 And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.14 And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
Rizpah may or may not have been a good mother when her sons were growing up, but she was a good mother at their deaths. She kept the birds and animals away from her sons, she cried out to God for her sons. David heard what she was doing and he went and got the bones of Saul and Jonothan and then came and took the bones of her sons and buried them properly. He gave honor to the King and his descendants. The drought was gone.
How much more should we as mothers be in intercession for our children who do not follow Christ?
Happy Mother's Day!!
Here are my rug rats! My precious children!
ESB, Ballet Girl and NSB at church this morning. The two older ones are in Indiana. So they weren't here for the picture.
Intercede, don't let go until your children know Christ. I know I won't!
